I am here to assist you to improve your quality of life. I began my life work at 17 years old when I entered the U.S. Army to become a counselor, at the time they called us 91G Behavioral Science Specialists. During my 10+ years enlistment, I assisted persons with mental health and substance abuse issues. I also worked in research as a Human Factors Specialist which deals with how humans behave physically and psychologically in relation to particular environments, products, or services.

I left the service anticipating using my military experiences and my B.A. in Psychology to work in my field. I wanted to help others explore and manage their personal mental health and substance abuse issues. However, as they say, "life got in the way". As I experienced life hardships, I learned many lessons through the "college of hard knocks". My break from counseling entailed working many types of positions which included light industrial, service, and property management jobs. These experiences only enhanced my understanding of the human condition.
I was able to return to school and earn a Masters in Psychological Counseling and a Masters in Social Work from Monmouth University. I am now a Licensed Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCADC) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My specialty is substance abuse with a concentration in anxiety, depression, anger, and personal relationship issues. My client focus is adults.
With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, I utilize cognitive-behavioral and motivational therapies to assist you in reaching tangible outcomes. I am confident in your ability to overcome any challenge, and together, we can uncover your potential for a more satisfying life.
